Day camping with the family at Santiam River - Whispering Falls Campground. This stretch of the river was absolutely beautiful, but I had some difficulty getting the right angle I wanted. After half an hour of unsuccessful attempts, My Nephew Tommy scouted out this angle (picture above), ended up being my favorite shot the bunch.
Stretching out my 17-70 Sigma lens as far it would go, I snapped this shot from the 75 yards away on the 20 ft bank.
The SLIK tripod I got last year ended up working out better then I hoped on all these rocks, never felt the camera was in danger. This helped me get these positions I wouldn't dare attempt on my old tripod.
